Wheekly Guinea Pig Help...How Do I Get a Friendly Guinea Pig?

First thing-- some guinea pigs are naturally friendly, and some aren't. You can't change a guinea pig's personality, you just have to love it! But, sometimes guinea pigs can be shy, especially if they're a new family member. Being scared is part of their nature, but over time, they can begin to trust you.
Celery is so trusting. I don't know how she manages to stay
so calm around humans!

Some things you can do is never, ever shout at your guinea pig or hit it! Your guinea pig will just become more frightened of you. To discipline a guinea pig, simply tell him/her "no" firmly.

Also, always treat your guinea pig with love and care. Sometimes, guinea pigs will become more friendly as they age, like I have.

Hello, human. What are you doing? You're taking a pigture?
Oh...I get it now.

I must sniff you all over...

As for Sandy and Bandit...

You shall never see us, human! Mwa ha ha ha ha!

Hope this helps with your guinea pig!

Happy Easter!

Okay, I know that it's one day early for Easter, but I couldn't help it. I was so excited! Today, the humans set up an "Easter egg hunt" for us, using Oxbow Treats. Oh, did I forget to mention? Instead of doing the wheekly guinea pig help this week, we decided to show you our Easter egg hunt!
A timothy treat...

A barley biscuit...

Sorry about the bad pigture. Bandit is so camera shy.

There's Celery. Stealing my banana treat?! You shall pay!

As you may know, I'm very camera shy, too, so none of the pigtures above show me munching on "Easter eggs". Thanks for reading!
P.S. Where we live, the weather is finally shifting to spring! Praise the Lord!

Wheekly Guinea Pig Help...Abyssinian or American?

Hello! My family and I are so sorry for not blogging last week! As many of you may know, keeping up with New Year's resolutions can be hard. We decided to give you a little quiz to determine what personality of guinea pig you should get. You may know that Abyssinian and American guinea pigs are the most common you'll find at the pet store, so they'll be our examples for today. Even though we are giving you this chart, just remember that each guinea pig is different in their own special way, so follow this guide loosely.

Take the quiz! Remember, don't use this as your only guide to choosing a piggy. This should just give you an idea.
See you soon,
Fluffy
